Sólo han pasado 4 meses desde que Charly llegó a casa...pero parece que hubiese estado aquí toda una vida...

I'd like to share with you my experience...of an adoption of... a rabbit.

Era lo que menos me podía imaginar...Cuando mi hija Júlia me dijo que acababa de 'ver a un conejo blanco corriendo' en medio de los jardines de nuestro pueblo, al lado de riachuelo, me imaginé a mi misma como a Alicia en el País de las Maravillas de Lewis Carroll.
It was far from expected...When my daughter Júlia told me she just 'saw a white rabbit' running in the middle of the gardens of our town, close to the river I imagined myselft being Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll...

Inmediatamente, mi marido me miró, me miró a los ojos y me dijo : '¡No!? sin tan siquiera preguntar qué estaba pensando...porque era obvio...

Immediately, my husband looked at me, he looked at my eyes and said 'No!'  without even asking what I was thinking about...It was more than obvious...

Ya teníamos a 'Toby' un pequeño conejito enano...pero no me importó...
We already had 'Toby' a small rabbit... but I didn't mind....

Es decir...¡¡¡Ya somos una asociación legalmente formalizada!!!!

Today, we are pleased and honored to announce that we just received the notification from the Law and Juridic Institutions General Director, dated October 10th 2011, which decides to register Mascotas Club in 1rst Section of the Register of Associacions of the Generalitat. This means that.... We are formally, legaly an Association!!!!

Ben es una cobaya y nació en marzo de este año. Ben is a guinea pig and was born in March of this year.

Cuando era pequeñín estuvo malito y por eso tiene las patitas un poco dobladas, pero afortunadamente ahora está muy sano.

When Ben was a toddle, it was ill. That's the reason why its legs are slightly bent, but fortunately it is very healthy now.

 

Le gusta comer muchos pimientos y cuando no le doy me grita al pasar. 

He likes to eat lots of peppers and if I do not offer some, it shouts to me when I pass by.

Ben is like a baby

Es muy juguetón y simpático aunque también asustadizo.

It is very playful and friendly but also scary.

Le gusta asomarse a su jaula cuando mi perrita pasa por su lado.

He likes to look out the cage when my female dog passes by.

En las fotos lo tengo cogido como un bebé, es un niño mimado.

Después de la noche de Halloween, las castañas y los panellets, con la luz del día todo el miedo de anoche queda atrás.

Michael asombró al mundo entero con su álbum Thriller y su videoclip, el primero concebido como tal, porque nunca antes los discos iban acompañados con películas en forma de videoclips.
Michael stunned the world with his album Thriller and its video clip, the first conceived as such, because never before disc were accompanied with short movies (videoclips).

En la portada del disco, Michael está con un cachorro de tigre, algo que también cautivó a todos sus fans.

Dick Zinnerman, que tomó las famosas fotos de Michael para la cubierta del álbum Thriller, recuerda que al comienzo de la sesión de fotos, Michael era muy tímido. 

Dick Zinnerman who took the famous photos of Michael for the cover of the Thriller album recalls that at the beginning of the photoshoot, Michael was very shy.

"Una vez que el pequeño tigre fue llevado al estudio de Michael empezó a relajarse. Tenía una manera de interactuar y conectarse con el animal que fue significativa. Tuve la fuerte impresión de que prefería la compañía del tigre más que la de los extraños. Michael es realmente único y un día tal vez en 100 o 1000 años, el mundo se dará cuenta."

 "Once the little tiger was brought into the studio Michael started to relax. He had a way to interact and connect with the animal that was significant. I had the strong impression that he preferred the company of the tiger more than the one of foreign people. Michael is truly unique and one day maybe in 100 or 1000 years the world will get it".

El tigre fue nombrado 'Little William' y era mucho más nervioso que Michael. Pero la personalidad de Michael y su espíritu le ayudaron a calmarse. La armonía entre Michael y el tigre inspiró a todo el equipo y 300 fotos fueron tomadas ese día. Al final, Michael y el tigre eran inseparables.

The tiger was named 'Little William' and was much more nervous than Michael. But Michael's tender personality and spirit helped to calm him down. The harmony between Michael and the tiger inspired the entire team and 300 photos were taken that day. In the end Michael and the tiger were inseperable.

¿Por qué Michael vestía con un traje blanco? Cuando las fotos fueron tomadas, el título del álbum no se había decidido todavía. La idea era llamar a la luz de las estrellas, que condujo a la forma de vestir y la iluminación brillante. ¿Quién hubiera adivinado años más tarde, no podemos imaginar una mejor cobertura de Thriller. ~ Dick Zinnerman.

Why is Michael wearing a white suit? When the photos were taken a title for the album had not been decided. The idea was to call it Starlight, which led to the clothing style and the shiny illumination. Who would have guessed years later we can't imagine a better cover for Thriller. ~ Dick Zinnerman

Michael no le gustaba la ropa que fue elegida para el rodaje y, de hecho, llevaba traje de Dick Zinnermans. ¿Qué pasó con el traje?
"Yo lo subasté en Sotheby años atrás. Estaba preocupado por la seguridad de mi esposa y mía, ya que, en ese momento, teníamos una casa muy grande y salíamos de la ciudad a menudo. Yo no sabía si la gente conocía que yo tenía el traje y yo no quería sacar beneficio de ello. Decidí simplemente deshacerme de él. ¿Por cuánto lo vendí?. Creo que recibí $ 27.000 por él y creo que éso fue hace 10 años. Hoy en día, probablemente podría conseguir un millón de dólares por él.

Michael did not like the clothes that were chosen for the shoot and in fact wore Dick Zinnermans suit. What happened to the suit?

"I auctioned it off at Sotheby's years ago. I was concerned with the safety of my wife and myself because, at the time, we had a very big house and I went out of town a lot. I didn't know if word would get around that I had the suit, and I didn't want to take a chance. I decided to just get rid of it. How much did it sell for? I believe I got $27,000 for it, and I'm guessing that was 10 years ago. Today, I could probably get a million bucks for it.

El año pasado It's all for LOVE projects organizó participaciones de Lotería de Navidad Benéfica pro-Debra. Tuvimos la suerte de que uno de los dos números acabara como el segundo premio así que nos tocó "la pedrera" (10 euros por papeleta) y a lo recaudado (220 euros) se le añadió la generosidad de los premio. El total ofrecido en donativos a DebraEspaña fue de 440 euros. Puedes leer nuestra reseña en el blog

Este año, el nº de lotería es el 63.829, compuesto por 3 números especiales: acaba con el mes y el día de nacimiento de Michael : 8-29, tiene el año de nacimiento de una de las fans que participan en el libro 'Altares para Michael'. Henemos editado 600 participaciones de 3 euros, con 1euro de donativo para Debra y están casi, casi agotadas.

Hemos hecho de Embajadores difundiendo información sobre la enfermedad y recaudando donativos para los niños online y desde 8 ciudades españolas: Barcelona (Lydia Giménez-Llort), Jaén (RosaMª Ruiz), Jijona (María Teresa Selfa Baldo), León (Noelia González Berjón), Madrid (Cata Siguaraya), Sevilla (Carmen MemotaMj), Tarragona (Jesús Miranda) y desde Vigo (Eva Vidal).

El total de donativos recaudados para los niños con piel de mariposa será de 600 euros.
Los proyectos de este año son: 

1) Ayuda económica y 'Embajadores' de Debra España (www.debra.es)
La ayuda económica que podamos enviar es importante pero además Debra España tiene un reto para acabar con el olvido que pesa sobre los afectados por Piel de Mariposa (EB, epidermiolisis bullosa): Conseguir, como mínimo, 1 socio por cada afectado con EB en España. Es decir, que por cada enfermo haya una persona no afectada que conoce la enfermedad, habla de ella, difunde sus necesidades y contribuye económicamente en los proyectos. Ya se han conseguido 188 de los 227 embajadores. Cada vez que alguien vende o compra una papeleta de Lotería de Navidad pro-DEBRA realiza un pequeño acto que ayuda a romper con ese olvido. 

2) DebraChile. Nuestro amigo Eugenio, que es chileno, ha recaudado 50 euros en donativos así que este año, además de ayudar a los niños, con su recaudación ayudará a su país.

3) Proyecto de It's all for LOVE /Mascotas Club en Debra México 150 euros.
En DebraMexico, una necesidad real para los pacientes foráneos es el hospedaje. DebraMexico ha alquilado una casa, que cuenta con dos baños, una cocina y una habitación con 6 literas donde podrán dormir algunos pacientes. La Clínica-Albergue Debra Mexico AC tiene una nueva área de odontología  y las habituales de dermatología, nutrición, psicología y rehabilitación.

Gracias a la Lotería de Navidad Pro-Debra, It's all for LOVE projects contribuye con 6 edredones, decoración Disney para las paredes.  Hemos enviado ya el primer edredón de ToyStory y ahora tenemos que decidir los otros 5 edredones que van a enviarse a NuevoLeón.

Queridas amigas,

Dear friends, 

Esta es Mostassa,  una teckel  sal y pimienta, para nosotros, Musty .  

This is Mostassa (Mustard), a salt and pepper female dachshund, we called Musty. 

Llegó a casa en un bolsillo de la chaqueta de mi hijo Ricard.
It came home in a jacket pocket of my son Richard.

Musty nació con un grave problema en la piel,  el criador había decidido sacrificarla. Necesitó cuidados toda su vida, pero aunque siempre estuvo enferma  creo que fue feliz entre nosotros.

Musty was born with such a serious skin problem, the breeder had decided to sacrifice it. It needed care during all its life, and altough it was always sick I think it was happy with us. 

Era desobediente (a mi me encantaba, considero la desobediencia una virtud de los espíritus libres). inteligente,  muy cariñosa y leal. Jamás ladraba cuando mis hijos llegaban tarde para para no descubrirles, pero levantaba la cabeza  con autoridad, como diciendo, vete a la cama ahora mismo o aviso a tu madre..!!!

Disobedient (I loved, I consider disobedience a virtue of free spirits), intelligent, very affectionate and loyal. It never barked when my children were late to avoid I could notice, but raised his head with authority, as saying, "go to bed right now or I'll tell your mother about it!!!"

 

Hace unos años, poco después de las Navidades Musty se marchó.
A few years ago, shortly after Christmas Musty left.

Su mirada es de las emociones que jamás podré olvidar.

PuroGalgo es una organización sin ánimo de lucro, que comenzó su andadura un día que su fundadora  Sandra Fernández se encontró con el primer galgo que pasaría a formar parte de, en un futuro cercano, su extensa familia entre los propios y los acogidos. 

PuroGalgo (PureGreyhound) is a non-profit organization that started the day that Sandra Fernández, its founder found Tutu, that will be the first of a big family of natural and adopted greyhounds.

Tutu, un galgo, iba a ser sacrificado por que nació con una hernia y Sandra se lo llevó con pocos meses para salvarlo de una muerte segura. 

Tutu, a greyhound, was going to be sacrificed because he had an hernia and Sandra took it, when it was just a few months old, to save it from a sure death. 

Pocos meses más tarde serían ocho los galgos salvados del sacrificio. Días llenos de llamadas y desvelos hasta encontrarles casa a todos, salvo a un afortunado que se quedó con ella. 
Several months later, eight would be the number of greyhounds saved from sacrifice. Those were days of calls and awareness until they could find a home for all of them except one who stayed with her. 

A partir de aquí la idea de Sandra fue: "ayudar a los galgos que pudiera, a darles la oportunidad que siempre se les ha negado en España".

Since then, the idea of Sandra was: "to help as many greyhounds she could, to give them the chance it has always been denied in Spain"

 
Barajó varios nombres para la asociación, pero como ella dice "no hay seres más puros e inocentes que los galgos.Son angeles caídos en la tierra. Son puros tanto por dentro como por fuera". De ahí el nombre, PURO GALGO.

She had to decide among different names for the association, but as she always says "there are no purest and innocent beings than greyhounds. They are angels fallen from heaven. they are pure both inside and outside". And therefore, the chosen name was PURE GREYHOUND.

Esta tarde saqué a mis galgos acogidos juntos a los mios "biologicos", los lleve a la playa y no se quién ha disfrutado más, si ellos o yo, al verlos correr, jugar, bañarse en el agua verlos de esa manera,mi alma se llenaba pero otra parte de mi sangraba por todos aquellos que se quedaran en el camino de colocarles alas... 
This afternoon I took my adopted greyhounds and my 'biological' ones. I took them to the beach and I don't know who was the one to enjoy the most: me or them. I enjoyed a lot to see them running, playing, swimming in the water...Just to see them like that... my soul was fulfilled. But at the same time, my soul was afflicted thinking about those that will fall in the pathway to give them wings...

Ben  Single  July 12th, 1972

Ben es el nombre del segundo álbum de Michael. Lo empezó a grabar en 1971, cuando tenía 12 años.
El disco sencillo (el single) con la canción 'Ben' se publicó el 12 de julio de 1972 y unas semanas después, el 4 de agosto de 1972, salió al mercado el álbum que también se llamó 'Ben'. Faltaban pocos días para que Michael cumpliera 14 años. Y claro está, de todo el álbum la canción de mayor éxito fue Ben, que alcanzó el primer puesto de singles de música Pop siendo el primer número 1 de Michael en solitario. El single también alcanzó el quinto puesto como música Soul. Además, ganó un Globo de Oro y fue nominado para la Academy Award. El álbum vendió 4,4 millones de discos en todo el mundo, 3,3 millones de ellos en EE.UU.

Ben  Album  August 4th, 1972

Ben is the name of the second album of Michael. The recording started in 1971, when Michael was only 12. The single with the song 'Ben' was published on July 12, 1972 and some weeks later, on August 4, was the album 'Ben'. This was just a few days before Michael 14th birthday. And of course, the top song of the album was  Ben, and it was also the Number One in the Top List of Pop Music and the first number one for Michael as a singer alone. Ben also achieved the 5th place in the Top List of Soul Music, winned a Golden Globus and was nominated for the Academy Awards. The album sold 4.4 million discs all over the world, 3.3 millions of them in USA.

"Mi Mekeres... Qué decir de mi Mekeres, qué decir de alguien que lo ha sido todo para mi...de ese ser tan especial que llego a mi vida y que durante 14 años fue la luz de mis ojos...

My Merekes...What can I say about my Mekeres, what can I say of someone who has been everything for me...of such an special being that arrived to my life and that during 14 years was the light of my eyes...

Llegó un día, así de repente...tan pequeñita, la vida la habia tratado mal. Nunca habíamos tenido ningún animal en casa, pero decidimos darle una vida mejor, ella lo merecía...y desde ese momento se quedó en mi corazón para siempre...
She arrived one day, suddenly... so small, life had treated her badly. We never had an animla at home, but we decided to give her a better life, she deservet it... and since then, she remained in my heart for ever.

Ella fue mi gran compañera, en mis penas y alegrías, siempre estuvo ahí a mi lado, sin pedir nada a cambio, sólo dando amor... Se convirtió en una parte de mi familia muy importante, era como mi hijita, le daba de comer, dormía conmigo, le contaba todo... con pocas personas me sentiré tan unida como a ella, simplemente lo era todo para mi... 
She was my great companion, in my sorrows and joys, she was always there at my side, asking nothing in return, just giving love... she became a very important part of my family, she was like my little daughter, I feed her, she sleeped with me, I told her everything... with few people I'll feel as close as I felt with her, simply she meant evrything to me...  

Sabía que un día se iría, pero creo que nunca quise hacerme a la idea, sólo imaginarlo era demasiado doloroso para mi... y ahora que han pasado ya 9 meses que te fuiste, quizás sigo sin hacerme a la idea... todo este tiempo ha sido tan doloroso, todavía no puedo creer que no estés aquí... la verdad aún creo verte en algún rincón de mi casa o incluso alguna vez te siento acostada junto a mi y eso me llena de una paz increible...
I knew that one day she would go, but I think I never wanted to get used to the idea, just to imagine it was too painful for me... and now that 9 months have passed since you left, maybe I still do not get the idea... all this time has been so painful, yet I can not believe you're not here... the truth is that I still see you somewhere at home or sometimes I even feel you lying next to me and it fills me with incredible peace...

Ahora con el paso del tiempo he aprendido quizás a encontrar algo de paz... mi mayor consuelo es saber que tu ahora estás con Michael, que estáis los dos juntitos en el cielo, y que eres muy feliz junto a la persona más maravillosa que pisó esta tierra... y es entonces cuando recupero un poco de esa felicidad perdida... sabiendo que Michael cuida de ti, sé que ahora es a EL a quien le harás esas palmitas tan graciosas que solías hacer...
Now, with the time, I've learned perhaps to find some peace... my greatest comfort is knowing that you are now with Michael, that you are both close together in the sky, and you're very happy with the most wonderful person on Earth... and then I recover some of that lost happiness... knowing that Michael cares about you, that now HE is the one who gets your funny affection...that one you used to do...
