La mascota de esta semana es una verdadera ricura de perro... y su tia, Maria, es fan de Michael. Viven en Yuncos, una ciudad muy cerquita de Toledo, España.

The pet of this week is a very, very cute dog....and its aunt Maria is a fan of Michael. They live in Yuncos, a city close to Barcelona, Spain.

¡Hola! ¡¡¡Os presento a "Thor"!!!

Hello! This is "Thor"!!!

Esta cosita tan linda es el perrito de mi primo y es de una raza llamada Bulldog francés.

This cute little thing is my cousin's dog and its race is called French Bulldog.

¿Os habéis fijado que lleva una especie de tirita en una de las orejas? ¿Sabéis por qué??? El motivo es porque en esta foto aún era muy pequeñín, sólo tenía unos mesecitos y aún no se le sostenían solas las orejas. Con esto conseguimos corregirlas y conseguir que le queden rectas.
Have you noticed that Thor is wearing a band-air in one ear? Do you know why??? The reason is because Thor is still very young, just a few months old and it can't manage yet to keep its ears up, they bend...The band-air helps to correct this problem and to keep the ears in the right position.

Thor es un perrito muy asustadizo, pero cuando coje confianza con la gente en seguida se pone a jugar con ellos. Thor is a very scary dog, but when he gains confidence, then he likes playing with you.

La respiración de estos perros es tan fuerte que si le pillas durmiendo puedes oirle roncar, jeje. The breathing of these dogs is so strong that if you catch them sleeping you can hear their snoring.

Si buscais un perro de compañía, este es el vuestro, pero si por el contrario, buscais correr, dar largos paseos, o algo que signifique un gran esfuerzo físico, no conteis con perros de esta raza son un tanto vaguetes... No tiene la culpa, pobrecitos, son así por su complexión física, ya que tienen las patitas muy cortas y son bastante gordotes. If you are looking for a companion dog, then this is yours, but...if instead you're looking for someone to run, to do long walks, or something that means a great physical effort, don't count on dogs of this race since they are a little bit lazy...It's not their fault, poor little boys, the reason for that is their physique, their legs are too short and they are a little bit fat for so much exercice.  

A mi personalmente me hace mucha gracia cuando se tumba en el suelo y empieza a dar vueltas porque parece una croqueta : ) I personally like when Thor lies on the floor and starts spinning like a croquette. It makes me laughing.  : )

Queridas amigas,

Dear friends, 

Esta es Mostassa,  una teckel  sal y pimienta, para nosotros, Musty .  

This is Mostassa (Mustard), a salt and pepper female dachshund, we called Musty. 

Llegó a casa en un bolsillo de la chaqueta de mi hijo Ricard.
It came home in a jacket pocket of my son Richard.

Musty nació con un grave problema en la piel,  el criador había decidido sacrificarla. Necesitó cuidados toda su vida, pero aunque siempre estuvo enferma  creo que fue feliz entre nosotros.

Musty was born with such a serious skin problem, the breeder had decided to sacrifice it. It needed care during all its life, and altough it was always sick I think it was happy with us. 

Era desobediente (a mi me encantaba, considero la desobediencia una virtud de los espíritus libres). inteligente,  muy cariñosa y leal. Jamás ladraba cuando mis hijos llegaban tarde para para no descubrirles, pero levantaba la cabeza  con autoridad, como diciendo, vete a la cama ahora mismo o aviso a tu madre..!!!

Disobedient (I loved, I consider disobedience a virtue of free spirits), intelligent, very affectionate and loyal. It never barked when my children were late to avoid I could notice, but raised his head with authority, as saying, "go to bed right now or I'll tell your mother about it!!!"

 

Hace unos años, poco después de las Navidades Musty se marchó.
A few years ago, shortly after Christmas Musty left.

Su mirada es de las emociones que jamás podré olvidar. 

Its look is one of the emotions that I will never forget.

PuroGalgo

PuroGalgo es una organización sin ánimo de lucro, que comenzó su andadura un día que su fundadora  Sandra Fernández se encontró con el primer galgo que pasaría a formar parte de, en un futuro cercano, su extensa familia entre los propios y los acogidos. 

PuroGalgo (PureGreyhound) is a non-profit organization that started the day that Sandra Fernández, its founder found Tutu, that will be the first of a big family of natural and adopted greyhounds.

Tutu, un galgo, iba a ser sacrificado por que nació con una hernia y Sandra se lo llevó con pocos meses para salvarlo de una muerte segura. 

Tutu, a greyhound, was going to be sacrificed because he had an hernia and Sandra took it, when it was just a few months old, to save it from a sure death. 

Pocos meses más tarde serían ocho los galgos salvados del sacrificio. Días llenos de llamadas y desvelos hasta encontrarles casa a todos, salvo a un afortunado que se quedó con ella. 
Several months later, eight would be the number of greyhounds saved from sacrifice. Those were days of calls and awareness until they could find a home for all of them except one who stayed with her. 

A partir de aquí la idea de Sandra fue: "ayudar a los galgos que pudiera, a darles la oportunidad que siempre se les ha negado en España".

Since then, the idea of Sandra was: "to help as many greyhounds she could, to give them the chance it has always been denied in Spain"

 
Barajó varios nombres para la asociación, pero como ella dice "no hay seres más puros e inocentes que los galgos.Son angeles caídos en la tierra. Son puros tanto por dentro como por fuera". De ahí el nombre, PURO GALGO.

She had to decide among different names for the association, but as she always says "there are no purest and innocent beings than greyhounds. They are angels fallen from heaven. they are pure both inside and outside". And therefore, the chosen name was PURE GREYHOUND.

Esta tarde saqué a mis galgos acogidos juntos a los mios "biologicos", los lleve a la playa y no se quién ha disfrutado más, si ellos o yo, al verlos correr, jugar, bañarse en el agua verlos de esa manera,mi alma se llenaba pero otra parte de mi sangraba por todos aquellos que se quedaran en el camino de colocarles alas... 
This afternoon I took my adopted greyhounds and my 'biological' ones. I took them to the beach and I don't know who was the one to enjoy the most: me or them. I enjoyed a lot to see them running, playing, swimming in the water...Just to see them like that... my soul was fulfilled. But at the same time, my soul was afflicted thinking about those that will fall in the pathway to give them wings...

"Mi Mekeres... Qué decir de mi Mekeres, qué decir de alguien que lo ha sido todo para mi...de ese ser tan especial que llego a mi vida y que durante 14 años fue la luz de mis ojos...

My Merekes...What can I say about my Mekeres, what can I say of someone who has been everything for me...of such an special being that arrived to my life and that during 14 years was the light of my eyes...

Llegó un día, así de repente...tan pequeñita, la vida la habia tratado mal. Nunca habíamos tenido ningún animal en casa, pero decidimos darle una vida mejor, ella lo merecía...y desde ese momento se quedó en mi corazón para siempre...
She arrived one day, suddenly... so small, life had treated her badly. We never had an animla at home, but we decided to give her a better life, she deservet it... and since then, she remained in my heart for ever.

Ella fue mi gran compañera, en mis penas y alegrías, siempre estuvo ahí a mi lado, sin pedir nada a cambio, sólo dando amor... Se convirtió en una parte de mi familia muy importante, era como mi hijita, le daba de comer, dormía conmigo, le contaba todo... con pocas personas me sentiré tan unida como a ella, simplemente lo era todo para mi... 
She was my great companion, in my sorrows and joys, she was always there at my side, asking nothing in return, just giving love... she became a very important part of my family, she was like my little daughter, I feed her, she sleeped with me, I told her everything... with few people I'll feel as close as I felt with her, simply she meant evrything to me...  

Sabía que un día se iría, pero creo que nunca quise hacerme a la idea, sólo imaginarlo era demasiado doloroso para mi... y ahora que han pasado ya 9 meses que te fuiste, quizás sigo sin hacerme a la idea... todo este tiempo ha sido tan doloroso, todavía no puedo creer que no estés aquí... la verdad aún creo verte en algún rincón de mi casa o incluso alguna vez te siento acostada junto a mi y eso me llena de una paz increible...
I knew that one day she would go, but I think I never wanted to get used to the idea, just to imagine it was too painful for me... and now that 9 months have passed since you left, maybe I still do not get the idea... all this time has been so painful, yet I can not believe you're not here... the truth is that I still see you somewhere at home or sometimes I even feel you lying next to me and it fills me with incredible peace...

Siento que jamás superaré tu ausencia, siento que una parte de mi alegría y mi felicidad se fue contigo aquel triste día...

I feel like I'll never overcome your absence, I feel like a part of my joy and my happiness was gone with you on that sad day...

Mi perrita linda siempre recordaré tus grandes ojazos mirándome, porque quizás con tan solo una mirada, tanto tú como yo, ya nos sentíamos los seres más felices del mundo... y aún hoy, al recordarte entre lágrimas y este dolor, siento que eres de lo mejor que he tenido en mi vida y siempre daré las gracias a Dios por haberte puesto en mi camino...

My cute dog, I  will always remember your big eyes staring at me, because maybe with just a look, both you and I, we felt the happiest beings in the world... and still today, when I remember you between tears and this pain, I feel that you are some of the best I have had in my life and I'll always thank God for having placed you in my path...

Mekeres

Ahora con el paso del tiempo he aprendido quizás a encontrar algo de paz... mi mayor consuelo es saber que tu ahora estás con Michael, que estáis los dos juntitos en el cielo, y que eres muy feliz junto a la persona más maravillosa que pisó esta tierra... y es entonces cuando recupero un poco de esa felicidad perdida... sabiendo que Michael cuida de ti, sé que ahora es a EL a quien le harás esas palmitas tan graciosas que solías hacer...
Now, with the time, I've learned perhaps to find some peace... my greatest comfort is knowing that you are now with Michael, that you are both close together in the sky, and you're very happy with the most wonderful person on Earth... and then I recover some of that lost happiness... knowing that Michael cares about you, that now HE is the one who gets your funny affection...that one you used to do...

Adry, se lastimó el pie así que mientras se recupera disfruta más tiempo de la compañía de sus mascotas. En la foto que nos ha enviado está con Coco, la perra de su cuñada. Nos ha prometido presentárnosla otro día.

Adry just got hurt in her foot and while she recovers she has found more time to enjoy them. In this picture, she's with Coco, the dog of her sister-in-law. She promised to introduce her to us another time.

Greta & Ronna

Greta "Super Tota", Buenos Aires, Argentina

La Bretón es Greta alias "Super Tota", como buena raza de caza essssss incansableeeee, inagotableeeee, inquieta por demás  
(a pesar ya de sus 13 años). 
La veterinaria dice que es una eterna cachorra en su carácter! Muy dócil y compañera, super intuitiva al igual que la Bullmastiff Ronna alias "Big Mamona" que a diferencia de Greta es más tranqui, holgazana, aaaaaama estar en la cama!!!!!

The Breton is Greta alias "Super Tota". As good breed of hunting issssss tirelessssss, inexhaustibleeeee, concerned about others (though because of his 13 years). The vet says it is an eternal puppy in her character! Very docile and companion, super intuitive like the Bullmastiff Ronna alias "Big Mamona" unlike Greta is lazy, she looooves lying in bed!!!!!.

Las dos son super guardianas y se llevan super bien, ahora que estoy con mi problema de pie las disfruto mucho más!!!! Al trabajar si bien uno las atiende siempre es como que no tenés tanto tiempo como ahora que si lo tengo. Y es increíble como se dan cuenta que algo no está bien conmigo, tienen un sentido de la íntuición increíble, están a mi lado... ¡¡¡Siempre digo que les falta hablar a mis dos gordas!!!

Both of them are very good guardians and also good friends. Now that I'm with my foot problem I  enjoy them more!! When you are working, even if you take care of theml, is not like now that I have plenty of time for them. And it's amazing how they realize that something is wrong with me. They have an amazing sense of intuition, they are by my side... I always say that my 'two fat' they only need to talk !
