Today we want to share with all the children of MJ Mascotas Club an invitation we received  from our friend Mirta Laprida, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mirta subió al muro de facebook esta preciosa fotografía de una niña sirviendo el te a sus gatitos y le puso este divertido y cariñoso título.
Mirta posted on facebook wall this beautiful picture of a child offering some tea to her kittens and she entitled it with such a funny and sweet title. 

A todos nos ha encantado la foto y cada día hay alguien que escribe un nuevo comentario. ¡No es para menos, porque es una escena muy bonita!  People is so delighted with this picture that everydays there's a new comment for it. Of course, because it is a beautiful scene, isn't it?

La hora del té se celebra de forma muy ceremoniosa y elegante por la tarde en el Reino Unido y todos los países con raíces anglosajonas como la India, Australia, Nueva Zelanda, etc. Es una costumbre de los británicos que trabajan de nueve a cinco.
Tea time is celebrated in a very ceremonious and elegant evening in the UK and all countries with Anglo-Saxon roots as India, Australia, New Zealand, etc.. It is a custom of the British working nine to five.

Tomar el te a las cinco es el mejor momento para hacer un descanso entre la comida y la cena. Esta actividad incluye té y galletas o pasteles del tipo "scones" aunque algunas veces puede incluir alguna cosita salada MMMMmmmm...qué rico!
Tea at five is the best time to take a break between lunch and dinner. This activity includes tea and biscuits or cakes such as "scones" but sometimes can include a little something salty MMMMmmmm ... yummy!

¿Sabes cómo empezó todo?You know how it all started?

Hace mucho, mucho, mucho antes de que el té llegara por primera vez al Reino Unido, los ingleses tenían dos comidas principales: el desayuno y la cena. Pero la gente cenaba cada vez más tarde... así que entre el desayuno y la cena empezaron a hacer una comida más ligera, para no pasar tanto hambre. Así que en el 1840, en Inglaterra empezó una saludable costumbre: la de tomar el té a las 5 en punto.

Long, long, long before the tea first arrived to the UK, the English had two main meals: breakfast and dinner. But people started to have supper later and later... so between breakfast and dinner they started making lighter fare, not to be so hungry. So in 1840, in England began a healthy habit: the tea at 5 o'clock.

Las comidas habituales en los países anglosajones son:
The common meals in the AngloSaxon countries are:

• Breakfast (desayuno)
• Brunch (comida ligera a media mañana)
• Lunch (almuerzo)
• Tea (merienda)
• Dinner (cena)
• Supper (resopón)

Los primeros en tomar el té fueron los aristócratas, como estos gatitos tan elegantes. Se acostumbraron a tomar una taza de té junto con un aperitivo alrededor de las cinco de la tarde. Esta costumbre era tan buena idea que todas las otras personas se la copiaron.

The first to do the tea-time were the aristocrats, as elegant as these kittens. They got used to have a cup of tea with a snack at about five o'clock. This custom was such a good idea that all the others copied it.

Pero no siempre la Tea time o la hora del té es a las cinco...En los días de invierno generalmente se toma a las 6 de la tarde mientras que en verano, como el día es más largo se celebra entre las 7 y 8 de la tarde. Así que no es exclusivamente una hora de tomar té, sino que más bien consiste en la cena, ya que generalmente se prepara al llegar del trabajo entre las 7 y las 8 de la tarde, para después ver la televisión o disponer de suficiente tiempo libre para otras actividades.
But not always Tea time is at five ... In winter days, it is usually taken at 6 pm and in summer, as the day is longer, it takes place between 7 and 8 pm. So, it is not exclusively a tea time, but rather consists of dinner, since it is generally prepared when people comes home from work between 7 and 8 pm, and then they watch TV or have enough free time for other activities.

Suponemos que a Mirta esta hora del te le recuerda la tradición argentina de tomar mate, y hacerlo siempre, junto a personas queridas.
We guess that this tea time reminds Mirta the Argentinian's tradition of drinking mate, and always do, with loved ones.

Michael se educó en la religión de Testigos de Jehova, por lo que nunca celebró la Navidad. Su amiga incondicional Elisabeth Taylor decidió en 1993 darle una sorpresa, adornar de navidad Neverland, la casa de Michael, y juntos poder abrir los regalos que Papa Noel les había dejado. Michael fue inmensamente feliz ese día. ¡Drisfutad de ese momento!

Michael was educated in the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses, so he never celebrated Christmas. In 1993, his unconditional friend Elizabeth Taylor decided to make him a surprise, with Christmas ornaments in the home of Michael, Neverland, so together they could open the presents that Santa Claus had left them. Michael was extremely happy that day.  Enjoy!

"Little Wiliam"

Dick Zinnerman, que tomó las famosas fotos de Michael para la cubierta del álbum Thriller, recuerda que al comienzo de la sesión de fotos, Michael era muy tímido. 

Dick Zinnerman who took the famous photos of Michael for the cover of the Thriller album recalls that at the beginning of the photoshoot, Michael was very shy.

"Una vez que el pequeño tigre fue llevado al estudio de Michael empezó a relajarse. Tenía una manera de interactuar y conectarse con el animal que fue significativa. Tuve la fuerte impresión de que prefería la compañía del tigre más que la de los extraños. Michael es realmente único y un día tal vez en 100 o 1000 años, el mundo se dará cuenta."

 "Once the little tiger was brought into the studio Michael started to relax. He had a way to interact and connect with the animal that was significant. I had the strong impression that he preferred the company of the tiger more than the one of foreign people. Michael is truly unique and one day maybe in 100 or 1000 years the world will get it".

El tigre fue nombrado 'Little William' y era mucho más nervioso que Michael. Pero la personalidad de Michael y su espíritu le ayudaron a calmarse. La armonía entre Michael y el tigre inspiró a todo el equipo y 300 fotos fueron tomadas ese día. Al final, Michael y el tigre eran inseparables.

The tiger was named 'Little William' and was much more nervous than Michael. But Michael's tender personality and spirit helped to calm him down. The harmony between Michael and the tiger inspired the entire team and 300 photos were taken that day. In the end Michael and the tiger were inseperable.

¿Por qué Michael vestía con un traje blanco? Cuando las fotos fueron tomadas, el título del álbum no se había decidido todavía. Why is Michael wearing a white suit? When the photos were taken a title for the album had not been decided. The idea was to call it Starlight, which led to the clothing style and the shiny illumination. Who would have guessed years later we can't imagine a better cover for Thriller. ~ Dick Zinnerman

Michael no le gustaba la ropa que fue elegida para el rodaje y, de hecho, llevaba traje de Dick Zinnermans. ¿Qué pasó con el traje?
"Yo lo subasté en Sotheby años atrás. Estaba preocupado por la seguridad de mi esposa y mía, ya que, en ese momento, teníamos una casa muy grande y salíamos de la ciudad a menudo. Michael did not like the clothes that were chosen for the shoot and in fact wore Dick Zinnermans suit. What happened to the suit?

"I auctioned it off at Sotheby's years ago. I was concerned with the safety of my wife and myself because, at the time, we had a very big house and I went out of town a lot. I didn't know if word would get around that I had the suit, and I didn't want to take a chance. I decided to just get rid of it. How much did it sell for? I believe I got $27,000 for it, and I'm guessing that was 10 years ago. Today, I could probably get a million bucks for it.

Hoy día 12 de Septiembre ha empezado para muchos niños españoles el nuevo curso escolar.

Today September 12th, many Spanish children were back to school to start a new academic year.

Mascotas Club ha preparado un especial de 'Vuelta al Cole'. Estad atentos a vuestro buzón porque recibiréis uno de estos regalos para que los animales de Disney, que a Michael tanto le gustaban, os acompañen en clase.

Mascotas Club has prepared a special 'Back to school'. Look at your mail box! You will receive one of these gifts. Michael loved Disney animals so much...Now, they will go to school with you! 

Los más pequeños del Club, Elena (Valencia) y Sergio (Jaén), se han hecho tan mayores que han empezado ya el colegio.

The smallest members of the Club, Elena (Valencia) and Sergio (Jaén), have become so juniors that they have already started to go to school.

Para Sergio es su 'segunda' vuelta al cole y para Elena, hoy ha sido la primera vez.

For Sergio, this is his 'second' back to school experience and for Elena this is the first time.  

Desde MJ Mascotas Club queremos felicitarles y desearles que los días en el cole sean fantásticos, aprendan mucho y hagan muchos amiguitos.

From MJ Mascotas Club we want to congratulate them and wish that the days at school be fantastic, they learn a lot and make many friends.

¿Y qué hay de Michael? Como los otros niños de 11 años, Michael iba a 6º curso en la Escuela Primaria Gardner Street en Hollywood, California.

And what about Michael? As other 11-year old children,  Michael was a 6th grade student at Gardner Street Elementary in Hollywood, CA.

Michael iba a clases durante el día y por las noches actuaba ya como una prometedora estrella musical, junto con sus hermanos en el grupo "The Jackson Five".

He attended classes in the daytime and performed as an emerging musical superstar at night, with his family group "The Jackson Five." 

 

Y para celebrar la vuelta al cole, nos gustaría ver con vosotros las imágenes de Michael recibiendo 'Las Llaves' de su escuela y....

It was on October 11th, 1989, at Gardner Elementary School, In Hollywood, CA , that Michael Jackson blessed us all with his presence to be honored and have the school auditorium dedicated to him. 

Fue el 11 de octubre de 1989, en la Escuela Elemental Gardner, en Hollywood, California, que Michael Jackson nos bendijo a todos con su presencia para recibir el honor de que el auditorio de la escuela llevara su nombre.
I was in 4th grade and had been selected to present the KING OF POP with the "KEY to the SCHOOL."
Yo estaba en el 4º curso y me seleccionaron para presentar al REY DEL POP y entregarle 'Las LLAVES de la ESCUELA' 
I was nervous but poised because I was meeting someone I admired and idolized for his creativity, music and dancing.  
Estaba nervioso  pero a la vez con mucha confianza porque iba a concer a alguien a quien yo admiraba e idolatraba por su creatividad, su música y su baile.
I hope that someday they removed the boards that now cover up his name due to his child molestation allegations.
Espero que algún día retiren los carteles que cibren su nombre por culpa de las alegaciones de abuso de menores.
Luckily prior to presenting him the "Key to the school" I was introduced to him and his entourage backstage, as an icebreaker, I remember him pulling on my "DUCK TAIL" and asking me if I was planning on growing my hair our like his.  

Por suerte, antes de que le entregara "Las llaves de la escuela" me presentaron a Michael y a su séquito detrás del escenario. Para romper el hielo, le acuerdo tirándome de mi 'duck tail ' (tupé al estilo Elvis) y preguntándome si iba a dejar que crecer mi pelo tanto como el suyo.

I took a long pause and was nervous to answer but I said "no, sorry." 

Me tomé una pausa muy larga y estaba demasiado nervioso para contestar pero dije "No, lo siento".

In this video we also have the Gardner Elementary Choir performing with Michael Jackson and r&B/pop group The Boyds.

En este vídeo se ve también al Coro de la Escuela Primaria Gardner actuando con Michael Jackson y el grup de R&B/pop The Boyds.

What I think is most amazing about this whole experience is the fact Michael Jackson realized he had the power to touch and affect many lives with his music and message, and it was one of the few times in the midst of the cold war and other trials and tribulations of the last century that people could come together and sing n dance as one.

Lo que creo que es más sorprendente de toda esta experiencia es el hecho de que Michael Jackson se dio cuenta de que tenía el poder de tocar y afectar a muchas vidas con su música y su mensaje, y fue una de las pocas veces en medio de la guerra fría y otras trifurcas del siglo pasado que la gente pudo reunirse y cantar juntos.
